Twenty twenty-one
My first piece this year and as much as I told myself I was not going to mention it, well here it is: another lockdown. Okay I鈥檝e said it, I don鈥檛 want to dwell on that for now. What I really want to ponder on is all of the things to look forward to this year, which will hopefully include the completion of a very good first full draft of my thesis! I know that this will probably be the toughest year in my candidature, but I am reminding myself that soon, the end will be in sight. In the meantime, I better set myself up with a good self-care routine.
The summer season
For me, summer聽means a few things; being out in nature, making plenty of jarred preserves and spending time with family and friends.
Welcoming a new year
Despite the fact that a new year is just an arbitrary marker of the time, at the very least, it鈥檚 a chance to approach the months ahead with an adjusted frame of mind.聽

Every now and then, things feel really bad. In general it goes something like this. There鈥檚 something I鈥檝e put a lot into. A person, an activity, a job, an investment, it could be anything. Whatever it is, I鈥檝e put a lot of time, emotion or energy into it. I have this idea of how things are going to go. Except that鈥檚 not how things go at all.
Review: Longshot
Directed by Jonathon Levine and staring Charlize Theron and Seth Rogan, the 2019 romantic-comedy聽尝辞苍驳蝉丑辞迟听about a Secretary of State falling in love with a slouchy speechwriter, somewhat disappeared from the cultural radar not long after its release. This is a shame.
Should I get an axolotl?
I love axolotls. They have mushy little faces and look like miniature underwater lions. But would they make good pets and company?

Programming
We are living in a digital age (just in case you hadn't noticed). When people point that out to me it usually聽feels like such a mundane observation. My gut response is that computers aren't anything remarkable, I use them every day
