What is Pride Month?听

Pride Month is a time dedicated to celebrating the LGBTQIA+ community, promoting equality, and raising awareness of LGBTQIA+ rights. This June, we will听celebrate the diversity of sexual orientations, gender identities, and expressions.听

Why do we celebrate?

Pride Month is a reminder of the progress made and the work that still needs to be done to ensure that everyone can live authentically and without fear of discrimination.

Pride Month history

Pride Month, celebrated annually in June, commemorates the Stonewall riots that took place in June 1969 in New York City.

These riots were a pivotal moment in the LGBTQIA+ rights movement worldwide, as they sparked a wave of activism and advocacy for equal rights and acceptance.

Pride Month is a time to celebrate the LGBTQIA+ community, honour the struggles and achievements of those who have fought for equality, and continue the push for inclusivity and acceptance for all. It is a time of visibility, solidarity, and pride in who we are and who we love.
