Student budget
Is it just me or are things costing more now? Whether you’re looking ahead and preparing for Christmas/summer holidays or saving for something special, these budget tips from other students are practical and easy.
Brunch at Bottega BanditoÂ
I try one of Adelaide's best sandwich places.Â
A day in Carlton and Fitzroy
Fashiontok and fashion magazines would deem Melbourne as the face of the Australian fashion scene. It’s hard to dispute that when every other cool and stylish person that comes up on my For You Page is from Melbourne – Carlton or Fitzroy, specifically.Â
Sidelines
I am loving all the soccer magic happening all around. It takes me back to my school days, playing as part of the girls’ soccer team. My mother wasn’t thrilled about headers, but she never missed any of my games. My parents were, and still are my greatest cheerleaders. They were always present and always cheering me on, even at home, when self-doubt creeps in and I feel less brave.
Preparing for an internship
There comes a time when one has to transition from student to intern whether that be for two weeks, a summer, or a semester. They're an inevitable part of student life, at least they seem to be lately, not just for work experience but also to get one’s foot in the door and to connect with industry players.Â
Friday night out in AdelaideÂ
Adelaide is very sleepy, but she comes to life on Fridays.
On sacrificeÂ
A couple of weeks ago, I had the pleasure of celebrating Eid Adha with fellow Muslims in Melbourne.
The third place
Where do you go to immerse yourself in the human condition?
On volunteering
We’re nearly right bang in the middle of winter now and boy is it getting chilly! One of the things I love about winter though is that the cold seems to propel me gently into a sort of quiet – nearly a hibernation. (Note: If only it were possible to hibernate when you’re nearing the end of your HDR candidature!) This is my quiet season and I do enjoy it.
