Thriving beyond exam
My top tips for balance while at uni.Ìý
"School is not the only part of your life", my mentor once wisely proclaimed during my college days. It's a statement that still holds. The hustle and bustle of attending classes, meeting assignment deadlines, and preparing for exams can be overwhelming, to the point where you might contemplate sacrificing other aspects of your student life.
But what if you could reduce the stress of your academic journey by implementing a few key techniques? In this article, I will share some valuable methods that I've discovered, which I believe can also be a game-changer for students of all levels:
- Have feedback with 30% quality: Have you ever heard of the ? It's a revolutionary approach that encourages you to share your work with others when it's just 30% completed. This practice requires an open mind and a willingness to embrace constructive criticism. I was able to include some good arguments in the report the other day thanks to my tutor even though it was not perfect when I asked him for the feedback.
- Finish your exam preparation 2 days before: When it comes to exam preparation, I've found that finishing your review at least two days before the big day is a game-changer. This approach allows you to create a buffer of time for relaxation and contemplation. Personally, this strategy is very helpful as I found the spare time that I created can be used to reflect on any potential topics you might have overlooked.
- Maintain your health: During the high-pressure days of exams, remember that your health should be a top priority. After all, a robust body and a sharp mind go hand in hand. I found having a good sleep and healthier food helps you well prepare for the exams. There is no need to sacrifice them.
While it's only been a few months since I embarked on my university journey, I've already encountered the formidable challenges that university life can present. Although these tips that I shared with you might be only effective for those who have just commenced their study, I believe that many of these strategies can be applied universally by graduate students as well.
