Don't let a bad grade ruin your day

It is so easy to let one bad grade or unexpected event drag you down. But don't let this minor incident consume your mind.

I wasn鈥檛 having the best day a few days ago. I had just got a grade back that I was a bit disappointed with. I had spent a lot of time perfecting the assignment, and just to see that my effort didn鈥檛 really go the way I thought it would, I was so unhappy. And felt crushed. However, after beating myself up about it, I was scrolling through TikTok and found a video that made me realise that one grade was not worth ruining my day. The video was a simple quote that went something like this;

鈥淗appiness was never about your job or your degree. It was never about following other鈥檚 footsteps or being liked by others. Happiness is about being kinder to yourself and embracing the person you are becoming. It was always about you.鈥

This quote is so true. While your job and degree and following others can make you happy, it is not at the root of your own happiness and success. Being on your own path, doing the things that make you happy, and surrounding yourself with people who bring you up, that is happiness.

Every little unexpected event beyond your control, every bad day, every decision you鈥檝e made, it has lead you to this moment. These bad moments have made you stronger, and you鈥檝e gotten through them all, so you can do it again. One bad grade, one embarrassing moment, they are not worth the constant worrying and sadness.聽It is okay to feel like this sometimes. And it is healthy to cry it all out every once in a while. But, don't let these negative feelings take over.

You are on the right path. Everything will work out, and everything will get better. You will achieve your goals, get your dream job, meet the right people. You will be seen and appreciated for being yourself.

You will wake up one day and appreciate your past self for getting through it. So keep going, take one day at a time. I am so proud of you. You can get through anything, even one bad grade.
