Adelaide Farmer's Markets
One of the benefits of living in Wayville is (beyond being super close to the city), the proximity to the weekly Adelaide Farmer’s Markets, held every Sunday morning at the Adelaide Showgrounds.
Every weekend, growers and producers from across the state descend on the showgrounds to sell their products to hoards of, let’s face it, relatively well-off, inner-city greenie types. My favourite stall by far is the speciality croissant stall, where you can find not only beautifully buttery traditional croissants, but also a range of fruit stuffed, chocolate coated and even gluten free treats.
Then there is also the fresh pasta bar, where you can buy freshly made pasta, ranging again from traditional to infused. Some come infused with chilli, mushrooms, spinach or beetroot, making for a  psychedelic display of colours and, from what I have tried so far, delicious tastes.
A real drawcard is perennial MasterChef favourite Poh Ling Yeow’s Jamface stall. Lines often circle around the stall for longer than half-hour wait times, with people keen for a taste of one of Poh’s signature pies or creative desserts. The woman herself is often there, working away behind the counter – it’s a bit of a thrill to see to be honest!
There is, of course, also a massive range of flawless fresh produce if you are looking for something a little healthier to start your week off on the right foot!
There are plenty of green, socially distanced spaces to relax over a coffee or whatever particular delicacy you can find, so if you are looking for a lovely way to spend a Sunday morning, hurry on over to the Adelaide Farmer’s Markets!
