Being single sucks right now
Normally, I love being single. I love the freedom and independence of not being in a romantic relationship. I like casual dating.聽I get all the love I could ever want from my friends and family, and I don't聽feel like I need it from a romantic partner.聽
But I have to admit, being single kind of聽sucks right now. COVID-19 is forcing us to avoid contact with other people as much as possible. That means no hugs, no in-person catch-ups. As a single person,聽I feel really isolated and envious of people who have partners who they live with. I can't help but imagine how much better it would be to have someone to spend time with, to lean on聽and to be able to get physical affection from.
I think what makes it worse is that even the聽辫辞蝉蝉颈产颈濒颈迟测听of meeting someone new is off the table for the foreseeable future. Casual dating (in person) is not really an option. It's silly, but I feel like I wasted my chances to get into a relationship and now it's too late.聽
To聽be fair, I am probably romanticising the idea of being in a relationship. I'd say all these rom-coms I'm watching on Netflix aren't helping. In reality, I'm sure it would be difficult and frustrating living in self-isolation with a partner, without any alone time or personal space. Others have been forced to be in sudden long-distance relationships which isn't easy either.聽
I'm just sad at the prospect of having to spend weeks or months being lonely by myself. I'm sure I'll be fine, but yes, I am going to wallow and feel sorry for myself for a bit.聽
If you're single, are you hating it right now as much as I am?聽
