Creating a reset routine
Are you feeling tired? Stressed? Burnt-out? Let's reset that.
After a couple of months filled to the brim with assignments, work, and exams; you might have no motivation or energy to do anything. And while it is absolutely okay and healthy to take breaks often, you should also be looking after yourself and making the most of these holidays.
This is why creating a 'reset routine' that works for you is so important! A reset routine is essentially a list of self-care and productive activities for you to recharge and set you up for success for the next few days, weeks, or month. If you are feeling like you are not making the most of your time, try not to waste anymore time away and have a reset day!
A reset routine will look different for everyone. Some of you might need a relaxing, self-care day to recharge, and others might need to deep-clean their space in order to de-stress. This is why it is important to attempt different activities to help refresh your life and see what works for you.
To give you a few ideas to get you started, here is my reset routine! If I am not feeling the best, restarting my day and doing these activities automatically turns my mood around:
- Breathe: Turn off your phone, sit up straight, and do a few breathing exercises to calm your mind.
- Journal: If you are feeling stressed or worried about anything, reset your brain and release all your negative thoughts by writing it down on paper. Here are a few journal prompt ideas:聽/student/wellbeing/news/list/2023/11/11/twenty-journal-prompt-ideas
- Clean your space: 'Clean space, clean mind' is a very accurate and common saying. Having a clean and well-organised room or dorm is so important to feel refreshed.
- Plan your weekly plans and goals: Organise your calendar, write a to-do list, and plan your deadlines, activities, and goals. Thoroughly organising your life can help you feel more focussed for the next week or so.
- Improve your physical health: Go on a walk, get a goodnight of sleep, and make sure you are eating well.
Hopefully one of these ideas will help you feel less tired, stressed, and burnt-out. Breathe, refresh your life, you got this!
