On blossoms and overcoming

Blossoms

‘Happiness held is the seed; happiness shared is the flower.’
I’m a tropical girl and am not originally from Australia so I still really sometimes struggle during winter. Having said that, I think this time of year is really magical - especially the last couple of weeks of winter, when the season’s just about to change.

This year’s been extremely tough for most of us. I never imagined pandemic on top of everything else. There’s been so much struggle this year, but looking back, there’s been an overwhelming amount of joy and grace as well. Nature so profoundly demonstrates this, I think. Seeing the blossoms during my daily walk is a clear testament to how nature flourishes, despite anything. These branches are stripped bare, and yet, from it comes a quiet yet magical illustration of renewal and rebirth.

Spring is just around the corner and I’d like to leave you with some quotes that I hope will bring you some renewed vigour as we take on the rest of 2020.

  • Flowers grow out of dark moments. - Corita Kent
  • Just living is not enough... one must have sunshine, freedom, and a little flower. - Hans Christian Andersen
  • You can cut all the flowers but you cannot keep spring from coming. - Pablo Neruda
  • Stretching his hand up to reach the stars, too often man forgets the flowers at his feet. - Jeremy Bentham
  • I must have flowers, always, and always. - Claude Monet
