Jumping for joy
It was the end of another long university week. A few friends and I were done with it. We needed a nonsensical break. So, we all went off to bounce Adelaide for a two-hour super session. I had been looking forward to it all week and I was not disappointed.
How was it for exercise?
The first thing I will say is that my rickety old knees (and my recent physical laziness) meant that I was exhausted. Two hours of bouncing, climbing, running, and jumping were more than enough to take it out of my friends and I (some of whom were lying on the ground before the hour was even up). It was great physical exercise that made us all really sweat. I felt so refreshed and almost cleansed from all the smiling, laughing, and sweating. It was intense physical exercise and it was fun!
What did I learn?
One of the biggest takeaways was a newfound appreciation for ninja warrior contestants. After trying the ninja warrior style obstacle course my arms were aching. Perhaps most importantly, I learnt that you could make exercise fun and get really fit as well as cement new friendships. One of our group members was a new house mate to one of my friends who we invited along to break the ice. An activity as simple as bouncing around and being silly can quickly and successfully break the ice and form bonds and friendships.
Despite all the little children who were bouncing around (whom we lost to in the dodge ball matches) it also made all of us feel a bit younger and sillier which is always nice. Something fun and simple that made me smile and I look forward to doing again, especially with their great student deals and auu member discounts! 聽
