A journey in working from home: a step forward
So, I talked before about using a word document (with a task list) and a motivational song to help get me through assignments. These have helped quite a lot, but I鈥檝e found that I鈥檓 not surfing through life. I鈥檓 staying afloat.
The positives are that I鈥檝e had the courage to at least look at what I have to get done (this is an ongoing struggle against procrastination). I鈥檝e got a list of obligations and deadlines that I am sticking to. I鈥檝e been getting tasks completed on time. I am happy with this, the fact that I鈥檓 doing the requirements of what I need to do is something to celebrate.
Still, things could be going better. Working from home has been hard. Home is not my workplace, and I don鈥檛 like making it my workplace. I need somewhere to rest and relax. Having a set work spot in my home has helped, but there鈥檚 still something about my setup that I find really hard. I don鈥檛 know exactly what it is. Maybe it鈥檚 the fact that my whole week is unanchored. I don鈥檛 go out to a physical location, do something, and then return home. I never knew I鈥檇 miss that so much.
The thing I really hate is that I feel like I could have made more out of my time working at home. It鈥檚 not over yet though, I鈥檝e still got a chance to get motivated and productive. Now鈥檚 the time to hang in there and smash this out. We can do this!
