This month we spoke to Associate Professor Adam Montagu, Director, Adelaide Health Simulation. Adam was one of four staff to receive a 2022 Stephen Cole the Elder Award for Excellence as part of last year’s Celebration of Learning and Teaching. He was also recognised at this event through the presentation of the Vice-Chancellors award for Excellence in Learning and Teaching for Outstanding and sustained demonstration of leadership in the enhancement of learning in Health and Medical Sciences. Here, Adam speaks to us about how he facilitates a safe learning environment for his students, and the learning theories which support and influence his teaching philosophy.

This month we spoke to , interim Head of the School of Education within the Faculty of Arts, Business, Law and Economics.Ìý Mathew has a special interest in how leaders establish school cultures to encourage positive learning and wellbeing environments.Ìý He is well published in the areas of character education, international education, leading change, strategic planning, and wellbeing education. Mathew’s expertise in student wellbeing will be featured in his presentation at this year’s Festival of Learning and Teaching, where he will speak on Evidence-informed Strategies to Promote Belonging in Learning and Teaching.

Connect within Health and Medical Sciences, which teaches academic literacy skills for Health Sciences students.Ìý Emma is also an Affiliate Member of the Adelaide Education Academy (AEA).Ìý
