Parking on campus

Limited parking is available on all campuses.

³ÉÈË´óƬ parking permits are required for the following locations:

  • ÌýNorth Terrace Campus (including)
    • Nexus 10 (10 Pulteney Street)
    • Napier (access via North Terrace)
  • National Wine Centre
  • Off Campus (Wilson Carparks)
    • 251 North Terrace
    • Union Street
    • Hindley Street

Types of Permits

  • Disability Permits

    Disability Permit holders are able to park in any disability access parking bay or plain white lined area, provided their Disability Permit from the Department of Transport is clearly displayed.

  • Short Term Permit

    Short Term Permits are available to ³ÉÈË´óƬ staff, students and authorised contract providers. Permits are issued for a maximum of three months only and are approved by the Infrastructure Branch on a case-by-case basis.

    Staff and Students are charged for a Short Term Permit at the current premium rate.

    Short Term Permit enables holder to park in any plain white lined area.ÌýThe permit does not allow parking in disability access or reserved bays, loading bays longer than 30 minutes, blue lined areas or in 15-minute spaces longer than 15 minutes.

    Pregnancy Parking

    UoA will provide Short Term Reserved Parking Spaces for women who are 30 weeks into their pregnancy or have pregnancy complications at any other time in their pregnancy. The Short-Term Parking Permit, if approved, would be charged at the standard permit rate (pro rata). Staff already paying parking fees for a general parking space will continue to do so.

    A designated Short Term Reserved Parking space will be allocated with Reserved Signage in place

    Medical Condition

    A Registered Doctor (GP) must authorise the Short-Term Permit application form available fromÌýparking@adelaide.edu.au.

    Both Staff and Students will be charged for a Short-Term Permit at the current premium rate.

    Short Term Permit enables the holder to park in any plain white lined area provided the permit is displayed clearly on the vehicle’s driver’s side windscreen.

    If a health condition is permanent, a valid Department of Transport Disability Permit will be required.

  • Temporary Permit

    Temporary permitsÌýare notÌýfor ³ÉÈË´óƬ staff and students, or YouX, unless approved by the Infrastructure Branch.

    Requests for a Temporary Permit must be submitted 72 hours before attending campusÌýand are issued for a maximum of two weeks.

    A Temporary Permit enables the permit holder to park in any plain white lined area.

    Commercial vehicles with a Temporary Permit must park vehicles in Nexus 10 or Napier carpark depending on height restrictions.

    The permit does not allow parking in disability access or reserved bays, loading bays longer than 30 minutes, blue lined areas or in 15-minute spaces longer than 15 minutes.

  • Commercial Permit

    Commercial permits may be issued to commercial organisations providing regular services to the ³ÉÈË´óƬ or who conduct regular business on the North Terrace campus.

    Commercial Permit holders must park vehicles in Nexus 10 or Napier carpark depending on height restrictions. Contractors must NOT use North Terrace Campus for all day parking.

    The permit does not allow parking in disability access or reserved bays, loading bays longer than 30 minutes, blue lined areas or in 15-minute spaces longer than 15 minutes.

  • Departmental Permit

    A Departmental Permit enables the permit holder to park in any plain white lined area on North Terrace Campus and are issued to allow visitors to departments to park on North Terrace campus.

    Departments must maintain a log on usage of the permit, recording date of issue and return, name and vehicle registration.

    The permit does not allow parking in disability access or reserved bays, loading bays longer than 30 minutes, blue lined areas or in 15-minute spaces longer than 15 minutes.

  • After Hours Permit

    Available to staff and students of The ³ÉÈË´óƬ.

    An After Hours permit enables the permit holder to park in any plain white lined area after 4.30pm weekdays, weekends and any SA public holiday.

    The permit does not allow parking in disability access or reserved bays, loading bays longer than 30 minutes, blue lined areas or in 15-minute spaces longer than 15 minutes.

  • University Vehicle Permit

    Issued to all University owned vehicles.

    A University Vehicle Permit enables the user of the vehicle to park in any plain white lined area on The ³ÉÈË´óƬ.

    The permit does not allow parking in disability access or reserved bays, loading bays longer than 30 minutes, blue lined areas or in 15-minute spaces longer than 15 minutes.

  • Blue Permit

    Available to Vice Chancellor’s Group (VCG) and Council members upon approval.

    Allows permit holder to park in blue zone on the Upper Level of the Underground Carpark. If the blue zone is full, blue permit holders are to use white lined parking bays.

    Blue permits are not valid in yellow lined reserved parking bays.

    The permit does not allow parking in disability access or reserved bays, loading bays longer than 30 minutes or in 15-minute spaces longer than 15 minutes.

  • Yellow Permit

    Available to permanent ³ÉÈË´óƬ staff on contract for more than 3 months.

    A Yellow Permit enables the permit holder to park in any plain white lined area.

    The permit does not allow parking in disability access or reserved bays, loading bays longer than 30 minutes, blue lined areas or in 15-minute spaces longer than 15 minutes.

  • Off Campus Parking Permits (Wilson’s Carparks)

    Issued to permanent ³ÉÈË´óƬ staff on contract for more than 3 months.

    Operational hours: 8am - 6pm Monday to Friday.

    Key available upon request for after-hours access to Parking Station.

    Permit holder can park on North Terrace Campus in any plain white lined area after 4.30pm weekdays, weekends and any SA public holiday only. This does not include the University Christmas shutdown period.

    The permit does not allow parking in disability access or reserved bays, loading bays longer than 30 minutes, blue lined areas or in 15-minute spaces longer than 15 minutes.

  • Motorcycle Permit

    Motorcycle parking on North Terrace Campus is available to The ³ÉÈË´óƬ Staff during the day and to Students after hours.

    Motorcycles must park in the designated spaces allocated to motorcycles around the Campus.

  • Alumni Permit

    Available to University Alumni:

    • all Graduates of the University;
    • all former students of the University who have completed at least one year of study at the University, or, in the case of study abroad, students who have completed at least one semester of study; and
    • all former academic or professional staff members of the University who completed at least 3 years’ service at the University.

    Alumni Permits enables parking after hours only.

    The permit does not allow parking in disability access or reserved bays, loading bays longer than 30 minutes, blue lined areas or in 15-minute spaces longer than 15 minutes.

  • Committees and Council Members

    Blue, yellow or after hours permits may be issued to Committee and The ³ÉÈË´óƬ Council members at the discretion of the University.

    Permits are only issued free of charge to committee members who are not University staff members and permits must be returned when a person leaves a committee.

    The permit does not allow parking in disability access or reserved bays, loading bays longer than 30 minutes, blue lined areas or in 15-minute spaces longer than 15 minutes.

  • Duplicate Permits

    Duplicate permits are available for yellow and blue permits. This enables the nominated permit holder to register two vehicles which are linked to the duplicate permit.

    One vehicle is eligible to be parked on campus at any given time. If a duplicate set of permits is found on campus an expiation notice will be issued.

  • Part-Time Permits

    For parking permit purposes, a part-time staff member is one that is employed for three days or less per week. Staff members working more than the part-time maximum of three days are required to apply for a full-time permit.

Fines will be issued where the requirements above are not adhered to.
