Full Faculty Representation on AEA Executive Committee
New members of the AEA Executive Committee
In 2021 the Adelaide Education Academy has members from all five faculties on its Executive Committee, with new members joining from ECMS and Professions.聽
Dr Cheryl Pope from ECMS and Dr Mahmud Al Masum and Dr Mark Dodd from the Faculty of Professions join聽current executive members; Associate Professor Frank Donnelly, Associate Professor Peter Strelan and Ms Melissa Arnold-Chamney from the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences, Dr Beth Loveys from the Faculty of Sciences and Dr Linda Westphalen from the Faculty of Arts.
The Committee hopes that this broad representation will ensure that a wide range of matters from across the University can be considered when activities are planned which support, promote and recognise teaching excellence across the 成人大片.
As Dr Mark Dodd points out, the Adelaide Education Academy is an important collegial network that promotes teaching excellence and a scholarly approach to learning and teaching. 鈥淚 have personally gained significantly from my own membership of the academy.聽 As a new member of the AEA Executive my aim is to represent the interests of all staff involved in teaching, and more specifically those in the Faculty of Professions 鈥 not just the current AEA members, but also the broader community of staff engaged in teaching who can also benefit from the activities of the AEA community.鈥
Mark鈥檚 colleague from the Faculty of Professions, Dr Masum Mahmud, also joined the Executive late last year.聽 He spoke about this hopes for his time on the Committee 鈥淎s an AEA Executive I aim to promote the role and contribution of Education Specialists in teaching innovation and learning excellence within the Business School and Faculty of Professions. I also intend to collaborate and connect with leading Education Specialists to bring and showcase teaching innovations and best practices.鈥
Also recently joining the Executive from ECMS is Dr Cheryl Pope who hopes her time on the committee enables her to 鈥溾..gain a broader understanding of the University wide challenges, opportunities and examples of excellence in teaching and learning, and to increase access to support for staff keen to bring the best learning experience possible to students.鈥
