This month we spoke to , Scholarly Teaching Fellow within the School of Social Sciences.Ìý Hong teaches Chinese languages and linguistics to undergraduate students and translation theories and professional interpreting to MA students in the MAITTC program (Master of Arts [Interpretation, Translation and Transcultural Communication]).Ìý In 2019 she was presented with a Stephen Cole the Elder Award for Teaching Excellence, and was nominated for a Citation with the Australian Awards for University Teaching in 2021. Developing evaluative judgement
A new external Peer Review tool has been added to the MyUni ecosystem to support the development of evaluative judgement. This reduces workload for academic staff, enabling students to recognise the quality of their own work and that of othersÌýto enable them to move from novice to effective practitioner.ÌýLearn more about the role of Peer Review and how it has already been used successfully in course delivery at the university.Ìý

Welcome back to campus - Professor Suzanne Le Mire
I am delighted that through the hard work and dedication of many, we can now welcome our students back to campus. I know your planning is well advanced to teach our students in person, or in online classes for our students offshore. As we kick off our Orientation for international students today, and our Orientation week for all, next week, it is really pleasing to know that already almost 1000 international students have re-joined us on campus.

Effective ways to support student skills assessment
Last year the University piloted a with over 2,500 students completing the online quiz.Ìý We discovered that our students felt positive about their problem solving skills, working independently and interacting with people from different cultures, but were less confident about their presentation, networking and time management skills.
