Passcodes required for Zoom
Zooming? Your meeting will need a passcode
Any University Zoom meetings after 13 September will require a passcode, including meetings that have already been set. This change is being applied by ITDS, in preparation for additional security measures being introduced by Zoom. If one of your meetings is affected, you will need to resend the invitation.
ITDS highly recommends you check for any non-passcode meetings via your Zoom Profile page, under 'Upcoming Meetings' prior to 13 September. Deleting these meetings and re-creating them is the simplest way to ensure a passcode is created and meeting attendees receive the appropriate updated meeting invitation reducing the chance of issues.
Meetings that already have a passcode are not impacted by this change. Users who would like to use 'Waiting Rooms'听may still do so, in addition to the password. You can check your existing meetings to ensure you have a passcode enabled. Go to the 'Zoom Passcodes' tab below for further information.
Meeting links in signatures
Are you using a meeting room link in your email signature? You may need to update it or reconsider how you apply it,听in view of the meeting room passcode requirements.
