ITDS training in Microsoft Teams, Zoom and more
Would you like to learn more about Microsoft Teams, and its functions for chat, file collaboration, virtual meetings and information sharing?  Or perhaps you would you like to upskill in Zoom, or learn about LabArchives Electronic Research Notebook ...
To help support staff across the University, ITDS runs a range of training sessions, now available online via Zoom. Coming up across September are a range of sessions focussing on some tools that are extra relevant now, and can help you connect with colleagues, teach, and share information.
Microsoft Teams
This year has seen a huge change in the way that people interact, collaborate and go about their daily work lives. With staff working entirely or partially from remote locations, finding ways to effectively collaborate and communicate has been a huge challenge for many teams. Microsoft Teams is designed to help fill that gap!
With functions for chat, file collaboration, virtual meetings and easy sharing of information, Teams can help your team collaborate and communicate when you’re not in the same physical space.
In our session, we’ll give you a taste of what you can expect from Teams and a chance to play around in a Teams space.
Zoom
Zoom is a very useful tool for videoconferencing and webinars, and is being widely used across the University. Whether you are just starting out in Zoom, or want to take your Zoom know-how to the next level, we have a session for you:
- Â (academics & teaching staff)
- Â (non-teaching & support staff)
For Researchers
Do you want to create a , or edit your profile? ITDS offers a special training session for academics, HDR students, and titleholders working in any faculty in the University, to help you create or update your profile. We’ll help you to edit content in Aurora, and in the Researcher Profile web page. You’ll leave with your profile well underway, feeling confident that you know how to keep updating it yourself, and you’ll know how/where to access support if you need it.
How about managing your research data? LabArchives is an Electronic Notebook System, originally designed as an alternative to paper lab notebooks, which can be used across all disciplines to record, share, and collaborate. Find out more about how to collaborate, update, and manage research data with LabArchive at .
