Understanding Diversity and Inclusion

Diversity acknowledges that we are all different.听Inclusion is about creating a campus culture where everyone feels respected, valued, and has a sense of belonging.

Equity ensures fair treatment, opportunities, and advancement for all, while striving to identify and eliminate barriers while belonging fosters an environment where everyone feels accepted and included. Our core values of respect for all individuals, commitment to equity and justice, and the promotion of an inclusive community guide our diversity and inclusion efforts.

    The University is in the heart of traditional Kaurna Country. We remain committed to working in partnership with the Indigenous Australian Community in a spirit of cooperation and reconciliation.

  • Disability Support

    We are committed to being welcoming and inclusive of staff and students with a disability. At the 成人大片, students and staff have equal access to opportunities, resources, and a supportive environment.

  • International Student Support

    International Student Support empowers international students to flourish by providing timely, clear, and accurate advice, facilitating meaningful connections, and celebrating cultural diversity.听

    Cultural diversity enriches our community by fostering a greater understanding, respect, and appreciation of different perspectives, ultimately strengthening our collective capacity for innovation and collaboration.

    Gender equity is essential for creating a fair and just environment where all individuals, regardless of gender, have equal opportunities and resources. By addressing and eliminating gender-based disparities, we enable everyone to achieve their full potential.

  • Pride in Diversity

    The 成人大片 is a member of听, Australia鈥檚 first and only not-for-profit workplace program designed specifically to assist Australian employers with the inclusion of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and intersex employees.

  • ALLY Network

    The 成人大片 Ally Network is a visible network of staff and students across the University who support the University鈥檚 commitment to providing an inclusive and respectful university environment for people who identify as being lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex and queer (LGBTIQ*).

    The听成人大片 Allies听are staff and students who are knowledgeable in, receptive to and understanding of LGBTIQ* issues. Allies are not experts about matters of sexuality and gender identity - they are people who strongly support making the University an environment where all staff and students can safely work and study free of harassment or discrimination.

    In particular, an Ally understands the reasons why many transgender, bisexual, gay, lesbian, queer or intersex people are fearful of being harassed or discriminated against, and why it is important to have Allies who are prepared to speak out on their behalf or advocate alongside them. Having trained Allies helps create a network of support across the University.

  • Support

    For staff or students struggling, support is available.听

    • Counselling Support provide free, confidential, short term professional counselling support to currently enrolled students, to address issues that may be affecting their study and life.
    • Employee Assistance Program (EAP) is a confidential short-term, solutions focused counselling, coaching and mentoring service, designed to help staff听and their听immediate family explore and implement strategies to address issues which may be having an impact on your wellbeing.
