Design

How do I submit a brief for design?
All creative briefs are submitted via this .ÌýDue to the high volume of requests, not all design requests can be serviced via our inhouse team – some are outsourced to our creative partner. Once your brief has been viewed, you will be advised how your project will be serviced and of any fees it will incur.Ìý

Can I design my own materials?
A range of branded office templates—including PowerPoints, A4 flyers and reports, invitations, name tags and stationery—are available to all staff for download via our Templates and Tools ±è²¹²µ±ð.Ìý
For more complex design work, for example projects that require uploading or changing imagery, the University uses a templating system called Marq. To request access to Marq, email creativestudio@adelaide.edu.au stating your business area/division and a member of our team will be in touch. Ìý

What if the templates on offer do not suit my project?
If you are not able to fit your content to an existing template, or require additional features, you will need to brief your requirements via our .ÌýPlease note that some projects will incur a fee and you will be supplied a quote once your brief has been reviewed.Ìý

If you choose to write your own copy, please refer to the University’s Writing Style Guide for information and guidelines relating to consistent brand messaging.

How do I submit a brief for videography?
The majority of videography projects are serviced by our creative agency partner, Richards Rose. Please submit your brief via the .ÌýPlease note that this will incur a fee and an estimate will be provided once your brief has been reviewed.Ìý

Are there existing images I can use for my project?
The Image Collection provides staff and students with a selection of free photos for use in ³ÉÈË´óƬ professional or academic materials.

Can I use stock images?
The use of stock imagery is permitted, provided you adhere to the University’s brand guidelines. Please refer to pages 31-42 of the Comprehensive Brand Book. Abstract imagery and artworks* are also permitted, however clip-art style images should be avoided.ÌýÌý

What are the restrictions on use of the ³ÉÈË´óƬ logo?
The ³ÉÈË´óƬ logo is a registered trademark and is legally protected. Fines may apply for misuse. By downloading and using the logo you are bound by the University Brand Standards Brand PolicyÌýand the ³ÉÈË´óƬ Act 1971.Ìý
You may not:Ìý
- alter or add to the logoÌý
- alter the position or proportion of elementsÌý
- alter the logo coloursÌý
- download the logo from any source other than the ³ÉÈË´óƬ websiteÌý
- use a scanned or photocopied version of the logoÌý
- separate the logo elements (shield, banner and title)Ìý
- create a sub-brand or logo using any part of the ³ÉÈË´óƬ logo or text.ÌýÌý
Student use of the logo is restricted to academic work only and must not be used for social club materials or merchandise.Ìý

Can I supply the ³ÉÈË´óƬ logo to a third party?
The University logo may be supplied to third parties in partnership with The ³ÉÈË´óƬ. When used on third-party materials, the University logo should always appear subservient to that organisation’s logo and branding. Partner materials must not appear as formal ³ÉÈË´óƬ communications. Third parties are bound by the same restrictions and usage policies as outlined above in What are the restrictions on use of the ³ÉÈË´óƬ Logo?Ìý

Can I have a logo designed for my project or business area?
To ensure strong brand exposure and to build on the ³ÉÈË´óƬ’s reputation, the various areas of the university are not permitted to have their own logo.ÌýFor further information, please contact Marketing.
