Creativity allows us to problem-solve and clarify our messaging and visual communication to protect and project the University’s brand.
Staff at the University typically engage with creative services to organise the production of content in the following categories:
- Design, including print, digital and social media
- Photography and videography, including livestreaming of events and announcements
- Copywriting, including messaging, speeches, scripts, reports, and guidesÂ
All creative services are produced in accordance with the University’s make history brand strategy, visual identity and writing style guide.
Creative service requests from anywhere in the University are submitted via the .ÌýOur in-house studio works alongside our creative partners to deliver quality and compliant creative assets.

Graphic design
There are three methods for producing on-brand graphic design material for our University.
Microsoft templates
A range of templates are available to download for A4 reports, certificates, flyers, name tags, PowerPoint presentation and more.
Self-serve graphic design
Print and digital assets, from flyers and posters to hub screens and pull-up banners can be designed by anyone within the University using Marq, our chosen template system.Ìý

Copywriting
Having a consistent, authentic brand voice is one of our most useful tools for not only explaining how we make history, but actively showing it every time we speak to our students, partners and each other.

Livestreaming
Similar to television, livestreaming technology allows you to create, view and share videos in real time.
Producing a livestream to watch via the Internet can involve multiple cameras, graphics and animation. As cameras and additional graphics are added, the cost associated with livestreaming increases.Ìý

Large events, such as Research Tuesdays, are managed by Frankie Films. Â
When briefing livestreaming production, please outline your role, the project objectives, and your budget.ÌýÂ
Things to know
Internet connectivity
- The recommended Internet access is via ethernet cables, using WIFI as a backup.
- WIFI access for livestreaming is not recommended unless there's no other option.Ìý
- Please provide ITDS 48 hours notice before any livestream; this will allow the team to provide an ethernet connection.
Audio
There are multiple audio functions within each University facility. Some areas are equipped with the latest audio and visual technology, and almost all are equipped with audio setup and output for videography. The ITDS AV team is responsible for maintaining these facilities, and will happily provide solutions. Please ensure you link your livestreaming consultant directly with them.
Building access
- Please organise a reconnaissance with your livestreaming consultant and ITDS before engaging with the venue.
- Allow at least two hours before the event for setup and testing. Larger events should be tested 24 hours beforehand, as well as on the day of streaming.
Distribution
A livestream can be broadcasted to various platforms. These include:
- YouTube
- Zoom
- Microsoft Teams.

Photography and videography
Photography and videography play a vital role in the way we communicate.
The Creative Studio maintains an existing image collection, which holds an extensive range of University digital assets, including graphics, photos and videos. Access is available to all staff and students. Â
Booking a photographer or videographer
Photographers are managed by our creative partner. Please submit your request via our . Make sure you outline your role, the project objectives, and your budget when you get in touch.Ìý

Talent release form
When engaging in creative services to organise the production of content, such as photography and videography for the ³ÉÈË´óƬ or Adelaide University, you will need to fill out a talent release form if the production includes people in the shots. All imagery and footage captured can be used to promote both universities, not only in the immediate future but 2026 and beyond.
Talent release and copyright agreement
Things to know:
- Store the form digitally in your own folders.
- Only signature of a UoA staff member is necessary.
- Please email creativestudio@adelaide.edu.au if you wish to upload your imagery to Canto.
- All video footage can be emailed to manuel.oteroborjas@adelaide.edu.au.
