Study spaces in the Library
Are you looking for the perfect study spot?ÌýThe University Library has a variety of study and recreational spaces you can use, from silent environments to group discussion areas - you'll find somewhere to suit you!
Here’s what’s special about each of the Library’s study areas:
Barr Smith Library level 3
This space is open for students 24/7 and provides access to the High Use Collection, book display (filled with study tips over the exam period), requestÌýpick-up shelf, and great views and powered bench seating around the perimeter of the space. This area is also food-friendly.
Barr Smith Library Mezzanine level (between levels 2 and 3)Ìý
The Mezzanine is our best kept secret. Students will find computers, powered study desks, and a small, quiet study space with views of the Reading Room foyer.
Barr Smith Library level 2
A quiet, individual study experience including single study desks among the book stacks. Includes a small computer suite, bookable study rooms for up to 3 people, a few large desks for students to spread out, and the iconic Reading Room – perfect for silent study without distractions.
Barr Smith Library level 1Ìý
A contemporary study experience with a good smattering of newer powered single desks, a group area that is food-friendly, a computer suite, and a relaxed spot to put your feet up in our Recreational Reading area.
Law Library ground floorÌý
Students do not need to be studying law to use the Law Library! The ground floor includes a computer suite, a quiet single study area, and a number of bookable study rooms.

Waite Campus Library
A large, varied, peaceful study space including single and group study options, bookable study rooms, an Indigenous study space and Yaitya Ngutupira collection, and a small group of computers.
Roseworthy Campus Library
A large, varied, peaceful study space including single and group study options, bookable study rooms, a dedicated Indigenous space and Yaitya Ngutupira collection, and relaxed, comfortable study space in our Recreational Reading area.
