Lecture 17 May: Demystifying Research Metrics

Demystifying Research Metrics is a lecture for staff and students who would like to find and understand their research metrics. These can be used when applying for grants, promotions and positions. The lecture is particularly useful for research students and Early Career Researchers.

The lecture will:

  • Introduce major bibliometric and altmetric measurements.
  • Review selected 成人大片 researcher profiles in Web of Science/Publons and Scopus.
  • Explore these metrics:
    • Author h-index
    • Top ten articles
    • Individual article performance
    • Journal ranking metrics
    • InCites benchmarking measures
    • Altmetrics

When: Friday 17 May, 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm
Where: Engineering Sth S112, North Terrace Campus
