But the genesis of this entrenched inequity occurred two decades earlier when Victorian (Liberal) Premier, Rupert Hamer, urged governments to 鈥渢ighten controls against bludgers on unemployment benefit鈥.

The South Australian economy added about 1,100 jobs in March1, according to ABS聽Labour Force Survey data聽released today. However this rise was only sufficient to keep pace with growth in the working age population.
