Strategic Conference Sponsorship Fund

As part of the University's commitment to fostering collaboration and building stronger research networks, we have launched a new Strategic Conference Sponsorship Fund through the Reputation and Rankings funding allocation.

University staff are invited to apply for up to $20,000 per opportunity for conferences or events that align with our FAME strategies听辞谤听Industry Engagement Priorities听(Defence, cyber and space, Energy, mining and resources, Health and medical industries, Creativity and culture and Agrifood and wine), and highlight our research excellence and innovation to global audiences.

Please note:

  • This fund is not designed to support applications solely for conference travel or attendance; and
  • You may receive full or part funding of your requested amount
  • Your application will require proof of support from your Head of School/Executive Dean, and an indication of the financial contribution your local area is making to the event (if any)

Important information about 2025 funding

To ensure applicants can maximise the sponsorship funds by the end of December 2025, the 2025 application round will open in October 2024, and the full 2025 funding allocation will be awarded in this round. Applicants will be advised of outcomes in the week beginning 9 December 2024.

Venue option

For University staff interested in hosting an event, the (NWC) may be an appropriate venue. The NWC has meeting rooms suitable for small workshops, larger multi-day conferences for up to 350 delegates, and formal gala events. University staff can access free room hire when arranging a University-supported event at the NWC. NWC's audio visual partner will also offer a discount on equipment hire (terms and conditions apply).

Reporting obligations

Successful applicants will need to complete the Strategic Conference Sponsorship Fund Post-Event Report within one month of the event, and submit it to dvcee@adelaide.edu.au

The purpose of this reporting is both for transparency, and to assist in assessing the ongoing efficacy of the Fund.
