Biography/ Background
Ms. Salinger is an epidemiologist who has 3 years’ experience in health technology assessment. She is responsible for critically appraising evidence of health technologies for purposes of systematic reviews and for evaluation of medical device submissions to the Therapeutic Goods Administration. Ms Salinger is also responsible for the data management of clinical trials.
Health Technology Assessment
Ms Salinger has contributed to the following systematic reviews for the following organisations:
- World Health Organisation: Safety review of influenza vaccines
- Therapeutic Goods Administration: on the safety of breast implants
- National Blood Authority: Extended Half-life factors for Haemophilia A/B; Iron supplementation in female blood donors
- Medical Services Advisory Committee: Cryopreservation of male gonadic tissue
Regulatory Assessment of Medical Devices
Ms. Salinger is responsible for the evaluation of evidence for safety and performance of medical devices provided in post-market reviews, application audits and conformity assessments submitted to the Therapeutic Goods Administration.
Evaluations involve: synthesis and critical appraisal of clinical data; risk-analysis and management; and assessment of information provided to health professionals and consumers.
Common indications for assessed devices include: orthopaedics; gastroenterology; vascular surgery and cardiology.Data management
Ms. Salinger is responsible for the data cleaning and management for the Stan and BPartofIt trials.
