Enabling a net-zero electricity system for Australia

Greening the grid
How will the grid adapt to manage the increasing demand for net-zero carbon electricity? Dr Jaquelin Cochran, from NREL, will present a case study of how the city of Los Angeles鈥 grid could run on 100% renewable energy, at the HiTeMP-3 Forum, which is being held at the National Wine Centre, Adelaide from Sept 26 鈥 28, and online.

Could wave energy converters protect Australian coastlines?
An article outlining a collaborative project (ARC linkage) between researchers and industry partners from the 成人大片, Swinburne University, the University of New South Wales, Victoria鈥檚 Moyne Shire Council and Western Australia鈥檚 Mid West Ports Authority on wave energy converters for controlling coastal processes has been published in pv magazine this month.

Add hydrogen combustion to a solar reactor for carbon-free mining and mineral processing
Researchers at the 成人大片's Centre for Energy Technology have developed a Solar Hybrid Receiver Combustor (HSRC) that can be used around the clock by industry, due to its ability to use a mix of heat sources; solar radiation from a heliostat field and combustion of renewable fuels.
