Could wave energy converters protect Australian coastlines?

An article outlining a collaborative project (ARC linkage) between researchers and industry partners from the 成人大片, Swinburne University, the University of New South Wales, Victoria鈥檚 Moyne Shire Council and Western Australia鈥檚 Mid West Ports Authority on wave energy converters for controlling coastal processes has been published in pv magazine this month.

Wave energy converters remove the energy from waves and could become an important source of both renewable energy and coastal protection from extreme weather for Australia.

It is hoped the technology could offer 鈥樷 protection and green electricity without radically altering marine ecosystems and aesthetics鈥.
