What's in the Hub?

The key elements to the student experience within Hub Central have been identified as:

  • an informal learning space which facilitates aspects of social learning;
  • a library which is integrated in the learning process;
  • services for students which are delivered face-to-face and on-line; and
  • information technology facilities which encourage informal and flexible learning practices, with ongoing student-focussed support.

Student consultation has been the key to the development of the Hub and the Hub Crew remain committed to listening to users of the facilities.

Through collaboration, a decision has been made to deliver the following from Hub Central:

  • Level 3

    Accommodation services

    The University Accommodation service can assist students to access a wide range of University-managed student accommodation options to support a successful transition to University life.
    Ask Adelaide

    Ask Adelaide is your go-to student service centre. The Ask Adelaide team can help with all your general enquiries by live chat, phone or in person. If your enquiry is more complex, we’ll refer you to the right place to get the help you need.
    BYOD area

    The Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) area provides a space for students to connect their own devices to our monitors

    Computer desks

    • Fixed PCs and Macs
    • Space enables students to work in pairs or individually with their study resources
    • Additional power provided for laptops or to charge electronic devices
      • Note, you will need to supply your own charging cables

    Lockers

    • Short term lockers available
    • Register your ID card at Ask Adelaide for access
    • Level 3 lockers can be used for 8 hours
    • Level 4 lockers can be used for 3 hours

    Maths Learning CentreÌý

    The Maths Learning Centre supports all students at the ³ÉÈË´óƬ to learn the maths they need at uni - especially if they are meeting it for the first time.

    Drop in to the Writing Centre in level 3 East where designated Academic staff can help you develop your essay and report writing skills. No appointment is necessary, but students are advised to arrive early.
