United front to Beat Cancer
Two up-and-coming young researchers from the ³ÉÈË´óƬ and SAHMRI are major beneficiaries of the latest round of Cancer Council SA’s Beat Cancer Project funding.
$9 million of research targets major health issues
³ÉÈË´óƬ led projects have received $9,401,459 to investigate a range of health issues such as how low-calorie sweeteners affect people with type 2 diabetes, using bioengineered tissue to rebuild eyes and the effectiveness of water fluoridation as a public health initiative.

Twenty-seven ³ÉÈË´óƬ researchers have collectively received more than $10.8 million in funding from the Federal Government to further their work in diverse areas that will impact on people’s lives in Australia and globally.

ARC funds seven ³ÉÈË´óƬ projects
Seven ³ÉÈË´óƬ researchers have collectively been awarded more than $5.7 million from the Federal Government to advance their work in diverse areas including ice shelf disintegration, medical image datasets, organ donation, and the evolution of pest species.
$11 million to improve the health of all Australians
Improving human health is the aim of $11.6 million in new research awarded to the ³ÉÈË´óƬ today, including a major project to investigate tackling two serious infections with one vaccine.
