International students celebrated for academic excellence and community spirit
International students from the ³ÉÈË´óƬ have been awarded for their academic excellence and community engagement at a special ceremony this October.
Taseef Farook
The StudyAdelaide International Student Awards recognise and celebrate the achievements of international students. They provide an opportunity for the international community, academic institutions, local community, and businesses to honour the achievements of international students during their time in Adelaide.
Taseef Farook, who was named the Postgraduate Research category winner, was also named as the winner of the Overall Recognition for International Student of the Year award. Judges selected Taseef from entrants across the academic excellence, community engagement and peer support categories. Mr Farook is a PhD student from the Adelaide Dental School at the ³ÉÈË´óƬ.
StudyAdelaide named the following ³ÉÈË´óƬ students and association as winners of their 2023 International Student Awards:
- Hania Abdul BaseerÌýwas the Undergraduate category winner,
- Pornthip SrisantisukÌýwas the Community Engagement category winner,
- On Yin ChanÌýwas the Peer Support category winner,
- Gavin QuekÌýwas the Rising Star Alumni category winner,
- Adelaide University Vietnamese Student AssociationÌýwon the Student Association of the Year.
The awards are presented to students in recognition of exceptional academic results combined with their contributions outside their academics, including their involvement and contribution to the South Australian community.
Winners were selected by a specialist judging panel convened by StudyAdelaide.
