Hugh Stretton Oration

Join the Stretton Institute for its Annual Hugh Stretton oration. This year's orator is Natasha Stott Despoja AO, an Australian politician, diplomat, gender equality advocate, non executive director and author. Natasha is a member of the UN Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW), an alumnus of the 成人大片 and in 2021 was the proud recipient of an Honorary Doctorate.

Face to Face: Embracing Portraiture

A rare opportunity to see highlights of the University鈥檚 portrait collection, "Face to Face" presents artworks by acclaimed Australian artists. As the centrepiece, a new portrait depicting Kaurna Elder, Uncle Rodney O鈥橞rien, will be displayed for the first time. The exhibition also includes researcher stories about the human face.

Friends of the Library Discovery event - Jennifer Cockburn - A rich paper trail: researching and writing the biography of Stewart Cockburn

The biography by his daughter of Stewart Cockburn (1921-2009), well-known Adelaide author and national Walkley Award-winning investigative journalist, is based on extensive research using his papers held in the Barr Smith Library and the papers of Sir Mark Oliphant - whose award-winning biography Cockburn wrote with David Ellyard.
