Professor Oliver Mayo

With Professor Oliver Mayo on William Harvey (1578 – 1657), discoverer of the circulation of the blood.ÌýWilliam Harvey wrote 'my trust is in my love of truth and the candour of cultivated minds’. This inspiring influence motivated Oliver Mayo to Adopt Harvey’s Complete Works 1761. The volumes will be displayed and Conservator Karen Vidler will join us. Dr Oli Williams and Helen West (Kings College London) explore recent debates about ‘terminal anorexia’ and ethics of care. They discuss a current research project investigating a new approach that has drastically reduced the incidence of feeding under restraint and is utilising co-design methods to improve the provision of care.
