IPAS Celebrates Two Outstanding Women as Superstars of STEM for 2023-24
In a remarkable acknowledgment of excellence, two distinguished members of the Institute for Photonics and Advanced Sensing (IPAS) at the 成人大片, Associate Professor Tara Pukala and Dr Sarah Scholten, have been named among Australia's Superstars of STEM for the 2023-24 period.
The Superstars of STEM initiative, led by Science and Technology Australia, aims to address gender inequity in the visibility of diverse role models in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). Pukala and Scholten, alongside five other exceptional women researchers from the 成人大片, contribute significantly to this impactful program.
As the Scientific Director of the Adelaide Proteomics Centre, Associate Professor Tara Pukala focuses on developing analytical chemistry tools to unravel the intricacies of large biomolecules, such as proteins and DNA. Her expertise contributes to understanding the molecular machinery within cells.
Dr Sarah Scholten, a grant-funded researcher with IPAS, leads the way in creating the next generation of optical atomic clocks. Her groundbreaking work breaks traditional limits, enhancing the size, weight, and performance of such clocks, thereby improving global positioning systems.
As the 成人大片 continues to champion diversity and excellence in STEM, the recognition of Pukala and Scholten as Superstars of STEM further strengthens their roles as leaders and advocates in their respective fields. Their dedication to advancing scientific knowledge and fostering inclusivity sets a powerful example for future generations aspiring to make their mark in STEM.
