Portable Atomic Clock Team awarded NMI Measurement Impact and People's Choice Awards

The ³ÉÈË´óƬ Portable Atomic Clock Team, represented by Dr Rachel Offer from the University’s Institute for Photonics and Advanced Sensing, won the NMI Measurement Impact award for measurement-related achievements demonstrating real-world impact. The team won for their world-first deployable, autonomous optical atomic clocks. The team also won the People's Choice award.

Holograms for life: improving IVF success

In a world-first, 3D holographic images of an embryo have been developed as part of a collaborative research project between the ³ÉÈË´óƬ and University of St Andrews. The images are created using miniscule amounts of light in a fraction of a second.

Congratulations to Prof Heike Ebendorff-Heidepriem for being successfully awarded $3,359,464 ARC Industry Laureate Fellowship. This four-year fellowship will be a valuable opportunity for Heike to collaborate with Flawless Photonics group to develop efficient purification methods for ZBLAN optical fibres.
