ZBLAN's Takeoff to Space
On January 30th, at 12:07 PM EST (January 31st, 03:37 AM ACDT), a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket is set to launch a miniaturized fibre draw tower module and 20 ZBLAN glass rods to the International Space Station (ISS) from Florida. Developed by industry partner Flawless Photonics and produced by the Optofab Adelaide team at IPAS, the module will be installed in an ISS glove box for drawing space ZBLAN fiber from IPAS-produced glass rods.
