In 2022 we invited our community to 'take a seat' and help refurbish the iconic Elder Hall, a place where the wonder of music has been celebrated for more than 100 years.
All gifts support the invaluable work of the Elder Conservatorium of Music.
Seats available for dedication
'A Reserve' seat: $1,500
'Premium' seat: $3,000
To make a tax deductible gift and dedicate a plaque in your name, or honour a loved one, please choose your A Reserve and/or Premium seat/s today. One hundred percent of your gift will aid in the refurbishment of Elder Hall and an engraved plaque will be placed on the back of the seat/s in recognition of your donation.Â

Alumna 'takes a seat' for mother in Elder Hall refurbishment
Catherine Galvin (Bachelor of Engineering Honours, 1986) discovered the Elder Hall ‘Take a Seat’ refurbishment in the Spring 2022 edition of lumen. She was intrigued by the opportunity to reserve a seat and help refurbish the iconic Elder Hall, a place where the wonder of music has been celebrated for more than a century.

At the ‘Take a Seat’ celebration, ³ÉÈË´óƬ Chancellor and alumna, The Hon Cathy Branson AC KC recalled in her speech, “There was talk, serious talk, about knocking it down to build something new and modern – something “more fit for purpose. This provoked quite a fiery debate, and protests, and thankfully those on the side of history won, and the Hall was saved from the wrecking ball. Â

Jazz bassist and composer Anna recalls many years of memories at Elder Hall. Since graduating in 2012, Anna has been living, working and creating in Los Angeles where she has performed, recorded and toured with various artists and performed at Madison Square Gardens.

The ³ÉÈË´óƬ is a place where history is made, the wonder of music is celebrated, passions are explored, and love is found. The late Barbara and Ken Klaebe, alumni of the University, discovered all this and so much more when they both pursued German studies as part of their Bachelor of Arts degrees in 1961.
