Professor Bob Hill newest member of the Native Vegetation Council

The Native Vegetation Council (NVC) is an independent body which monitors the overall condition of the state鈥檚 vegetation.


The council makes decisions on a wide range of matters concerning native vegetation in South Australia. Professor Bob Hill has been elected as the ministers nominee. In this role he will give expert advice on applications received for removal of native vegetation. He will also assist in reestablishing native vegetation.

Responsibilities of the council include:

  • encouraging the re-establishment of native vegetation on over-cleared land

  • managing the , which encourages the protection of native bushland

  • funding and encouraging on-ground works that produce a .

  • funding and encouraging native vegetation management

  • monitoring changes to the state鈥檚 native vegetation landscape through the .

  • assessing applications and establishing conditions for the clearance of .
