• Biography/ Background

  Dr Du Preez graduated from the University of Pretoria, South Africa in 2007 with a special interest equine medicine and surgery. Surita worked in mixed practice for a brief period before relocating to Australia, spending 5 and ½ years in equine private practice before completing a four-year combined specialist training (residency) and professional doctorate in equine internal medicine, at Charles Sturt University in Wagga Wagga. Her doctorate research project involved the evaluation of non-invasive diagnostic modalities to evaluate lower airway health of horses. She attained Diplomate status of the European College of Equine Internal Medicine in February 2018. Surita enjoys all aspects of equine medicine with a specific interest in neonatal and adult critical care, ophthalmology, neurology and respiratory disease.
