  • Biography/ Background

I am the Deputy Dean International for the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences. This role encompasses leading the international portfolio for health and medical sciences. I am also the academic lead for Learning and Teaching as well as the Internationalisation Lead at the Adelaide Nursing School. I am a mental health nurse with a clinical background in child and adolescent mental health and community health. My main areas of practice have been infant, child and adolescent mental health and community health. Prior to joining the University in 2009, I spent many years working as a senior clinician in both the public and private health sectors as well as in the United Kingdom. In the health sector, I also worked in education and management roles. Currently I am a practitioner member of the Nursing and Midwifery Board – South Australia and have been involved in nursing regulation and accreditation since 2001. My research interests are professional identity, regulation of disciplines and scope of practice. I have supervised PhD and Master of Nursing students from a diverse range of cultural and international backgrounds.
