Biography/ Background
Melanie became Manager, Teaching Excellence in March, 2022. Previously she managed the ADEPT professional development program after commencing at Adelaide as Manager, Curriculum Design in November, 2019.
In her current role she works with the Teaching Excellence team to support academic and professional staff through a range of programs that develop, recognise, and reward excellence in teaching or support of learning. She collaborates with the ADEPT Academic leads, DASE and Faculty colleagues on the creation of resources and ADEPT activities available to those who teach and support learning at the University.
In December 2021 she became a Higher Education Academy Fellow (AdvanceHE).
Prior to coming to the 成人大片, Melanie was Senior Academic Developer in the central Learning and Teaching team at RMIT Vietnam. She held this position for five and a half years during which she led and collaborated on curriculum development projects in the areas of authentic assessment, blended learning, and accessible learning materials and supported academic staff to incorporate these approaches into their teaching practice. She also supported great teachers to articulate their approach and be recognised for their positive impact on student learning through campus and university level teaching awards.
Melanie came to academic development from a teaching position as lecturer and then senior lecturer within the Professional Communication program at RMIT Vietnam where she taught courses in media and public relations and coordinated development opportunities for the team. -
