Biography/ Background
Dayle has a background in education and computer science and has over 10 years experience in eLearning design and consultation.
As Online Learning Coordinator for Rural Health she is responsible for providing a high quality online learning experience for MBBS students undertaking rural clinical placements. Responsibilities include management of the design and production of online course material, provision of staff development and guidance on the adoption of innovative educational technologies.

Dayle provides support within the Faculty of Health Sciences in order to better engage teaching staff in eLearning. Key projects include
Educational Video Production Development and Facility
The project will support the development of re-usable videos to enrich the online experience and increase engagement. Videos will be short ‘bites’ that may be used to (for example):
- Welcome students to the course
- Provide pre-lecture content
- Explain key concepts
- Demonstrate clinical skills
- Show worked examples such as drug calculations
Adelaide Medical and Nursing Schools Project
- Contribute to the Learning and Teaching Committee on all eLearning aspects of the new Medical and Nursing Schools building as well as maximise opportunities that the project presents to improve the eLearning experience for staff and students.

BenchmarkingDayle project manages this initiative which is concerned with developing methods to take a current snapshot of online education at Adelaide in order to evaluate the impact of various online development team initiatives, and in order to compare to relevant institutions.

Graduate Certificate of Online Learning (Higher Education)Taught within two courses of the GCOL program: ICT Literacy in Higher Education and Online Learning Communities. The GCOL is an award program with the aim to assist academic staff in developing their expertise in the field of online learning and teaching practice and research.
Professional Development Training for StaffWrote and delivered professional development sessions for academic and professional staff covering a broad range of eLearning topics including

MyUni Upgrade 2010In order to improve MyUni and keep current with the latest learning management system features MyUni was at the end of 2010. This included providing face-to-face and online training as well as establishing a new standard format for online help tutorials and managing the production of resources.
Health Education Development and Innovation - VideosWorking with the Dental School's HEDI group, numerous educational video and multimedia resources have been produced to demonstrate dental clinical practice. The video resources provide students with a close up view not achievable by live demonstrations as well as allowing students to review the procedure as many times as they like in preparation for clinic.
MyMedia Lecture RecordingThe service is available to all university staff and enables the audio and video recording of lectures for access by students through MyUni. Dayle lead two evaluations of the MyMedia service in 2006 and 2009 including staff and students surveys. The reports are available on the MyMedia website.
The Mekong EsimThe is a web based role-play/simulation set in the Mekong area of South-East Asia that is part of the Civil Engineering course at Adelaide University. The online education team worked with Dr Holger Maier to use multimedia and MyUni functionality to increase student engagement and enhance the authenticity of the simulation.
Plagiarism eSim - Online RoleplayDeveloped collaboratively by staff across the 成人大片, Tafe, DFEEST and Uni SA, the Plagiarism eSim is a short, online role play which can be used to explore:
- the value of online roleplay as a learning and teaching activitiy
- learning design features, and
- multiple perspectives toward plagiarism issues.
Online Academic Writing Modules - Academic Skills Resources
In collaboration with the Language Learning Service, a number of self help online modules for students covering essay writing, paragraph writing and cohesive writing have been made available through MyUni. The modules include authentic examples of student writing along with assessors feedback as well as interactive exercises to promote active learning. Resources can be found in the MyUni course .
