Research Interests
Combining lab and field experiments with computational biology and field robotics to study insect collective behaviour and its application to agriculture and pest control.
Current focuses on collective movement and nutrition in locust hopper bands, ant and termite colonies using innovative methods such as parrallel computing using graphic cards (GPGPUs) to simulate millions of individuals, field robotics (drones, miniature tracking devices for insects) and computer vision to track nutrient flows in insect colonies
