Biography/ Background
I am interested in how the ideals of public law - fairness, integrity, democracy, the rule of law - play out in messy real-world situations. How can courts act with integrity under the pressure of massive caseloads? What does procedural fairness look like when government uses technology to make decisions that affect individuals? How does the separation of powers operate in the context of tribunals, which are meant to operate flexibly and efficiently in the space between courts and the executive?
I research and teach in public law, specialising in constitutional law. My work centres on the interaction between government, law, and the Australian people. Much of my research focuses on the role of courts in relation to other branches of government: a topic that extends to aspects of constitutional, administrative and procedural law.
I am Program Director for the : part of a that aims to equip women with the skills, knowledge and networks to stand for elected office and thrive as political leaders.
