What will you do?
Our Master of Food and Nutrition Science is designed to develop specialist skills and empower future food visionaries. You will:
- understand the importance of a secure, sustainable and healthy food supply
- formulate and package foods with specific functional and nutritional properties
- expand your knowledge of nutrigenomics and metabolic nutrition
- apply sensory and flavour science to new product development
- discover innovative and emerging processing and preservation techniques
- critically evaluate legislative and regulatory policy
- build peer relationships in your own learning space, within the University’s dedicated Food Innovation Laboratory
- complete an independent capstone research project.
Where could it take you?
You could create and market previously undreamt-of sensory experiences. You might revolutionise nutritional therapy. Perhaps you’ll innovate in the beer and beverages world, make microalgae meats, or popularise new insect-infused edibles.

Higher Education Study | Relevant Bachelor degree or equivalent in Science related field including (but not restricted to) Agriculture, Biology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Plant and General Science and Engineering, with a minimum GPA of 5.0. Please note: if you have a relevant Bachelor's degree or equivalent, in the fields of food science, food technology, food engineering and nutrition, with a minimum GPA of 5.0 then please consider applying to the Master of Global Food and Nutrition Science instead. |
