Graduate Diploma in Engineering (Mining)
A foundation for advanced engineering
Mining engineers work with all aspects of ore extraction and processing. They gather valuable minerals and metals which enable the products and technologies that form the backbone of our society.
Our Graduate Diploma in Engineering (Mining) is suited to engineering graduates and working engineers with relevant experience.
What will you do?
The program acts as a foundational year for the Master of Engineering (Mining). It’s designed to upskill students for advanced studies and career opportunities. You will:
- study geomechanics, geotechnical engineering and geostatistics
- build skills in mine design, modelling, simulation and mine automation
- conduct risk and uncertainty analyses
- explore mine management, planning and sustainable practices
- develop skills for research, communication, critical thinking, business and management.
Note: If you’re currently enrolled in the master program and wish to exit with the graduate diploma, see the academic requirements for this degree.
