Our Graduate Diploma in Engineering (Civil and Structural) is suited to engineering graduates and working engineers with relevant experience.
What will you do?
The program acts as a foundational year for the Master of Engineering (Civil and Structural). It’s designed to upskill students for advanced studies and career opportunities. You will:
- build and evaluate geotechnical models
- analyse structural dynamics using computer technologies
- study reinforced concrete and steel design
- develop skills for research, communication, critical thinking, business and management.

Civil and structural engineering graduates can follow careers in a wide range of areas and often find employment in private consulting engineering practices, construction companies, civil engineering service providers, and federal, state and local government departments in Australia and abroad.
Some of the more common careers in civil engineering including structural engineers, water resources engineers, coastal engineers, geotechnical engineers, transportation and highways engineers, and materials and testing engineers.

To qualify for the Graduate Diploma in Engineering (Civil & Structural), the student must complete satisfactorily a program of study consisting of the following requirements with a combined total of not less than 24 units, comprising:
- Core courses to the value of 12 units
- Civil & Structural specialisation courses to the value of 12 units
