End of Year Award Ceremony

The Student Leaders End of Year Award Ceremony is dedicated to celebrating our student leaders and recognising their outstanding contributions to the university experience this year. We have introduced a new initiative, in collaboration with students, to create awards that honour those who have excelled in their leadership roles.

Student graduating

Everyone鈥攚hether you are a student, professional, or academic staff member鈥攊s eligible to nominate outstanding student leaders who have made a significant impact.

There are no limits to the number of student leaders you can nominate. All nominations must be for current students only. After the nomination period closes, a review panel composed of staff, academics, senior leaders, and representatives from Medibank will evaluate the submissions based on an assessment rubric to select the winners.

Winners will be announced and presented with their prizes at the ceremony on Friday, 18th October.

    Outstanding Graduate Achievement Award
    • Successfully completes all Adelaide Graduate Award requirements.
    • Demonstrates personal and professional growth through reflections on community engagement
    • Provides clear examples of skills gained and applied from community involvement
    • Provide examples of how the recipient has shown skills in their professional development for their future success (e.g professional development, internships, work placements, or even taking on leadership roles in industry-related projects)
    • Professional recognition evidence or reference from supervisor or manager听
    • Self-nomination is allowed with evidence of completing Adelaide Graduate Award
    • Nominations can also be submitted by others with evidence the Adelaide Graduate Award has been completed
    Outstanding Scholarly Leader Award
    • Maintains a GPA of at least 5.5 over two consecutive semesters
    • Holds leadership roles at the university, including volunteer and paid roles (PASS, Academic Integrity Ambassadors, Succeed@Adelaide, etc)听
    • Receives academic awards or scholarships
    • Provides faculty recommendations highlighting academic and leadership abilities
    • Self-nomination is allowed with evidence of completing Adelaide Graduate Award
    Innovative Leadership Excellence Award
    • Initiates creative projects, showcasing leadership and innovation
    • Demonstrates tangible benefits for participants or stakeholders
    • Makes significant contributions to campus or the wider community
    • Self-nomination is allowed with evidence of leadership and creativity
    Incredible Human Medibank Award (Heartfelt Care)
    • Recognised by peers or mentors for showing empathy and care
    • Takes specific actions to help others, such as offering support or advocacy
    • Nominations must be submitted by others, with detailed examples of support and empathy provided
    Influential Leader Award
    • Builds and maintains strong networks that enhance leadership influence
    • Has a proven track record of successful leadership with positive outcomes
    • Actively participates in community or organisational events
    • Nominations must be submitted by others, with an online vote to determine the winner
    Cultural Engagement Excellence Award
    • Promotes and celebrates cultural diversity on campus
    • Organises or participates in cultural activities, events, or programmes
    • Creates a positive impact by increasing awareness and participation in cultural initiatives
    • Engages with various student groups to promote inclusivity
    • Testimonial from third party on the cultural activity, event or program and the impact of this initiative has had on them
    • Self-nomination is allowed
    Sustainable Excellence Award (Individual or Team)
    • Leads eco-friendly projects or initiatives on campus
    • Raises awareness of environmental issues and encourages sustainable practices
    • Motivates others to participate in sustainability efforts, fostering collaboration
    • Self-nomination is allowed with evidence of environmental projects

    Outstanding Graduate Achievement Exceeds all Award requirements with exceptional achievements (e.g., led multiple community engagement projects, professional accomplishments). Meets most award requirements with solid achievements (e.g. shows, clear personal development in 1-2 community activities). Meets basic requirements but lacks depth (e.g. participated in community work but with minimal growth shown). Does not meet the requirements or shows little evidence of engagement.
    Outstanding Scholarly Leader Award GPA 5.5+ over two semesters; holds significant leadership roles with impact (e.g. president of an academic society, won multiple academic awards). GPA 5.0+ holds leadership roles with clear contributions (e.g. team leader in academic projects, won one academic award). Meets academic requirements with minor leadership (e.g. member of a club, minimal awards). GPA below 5.0, no leadership roles or recognitions.
    Innovative Leadership Excellence Award Initiates multiple innovative projects with high impact (e.g. developed a new app that improved student engagement). Leads some innovative projects with moderate success (e.g. improved existing processes for a club). Participates in innovative projects with limited impact (e.g. assisted with a new initiative). No evidence of innovation or leadership in projects.
    Incredible Human Medibank Award Displays consistent, empathic leadership (e.g. led a peer support program, significantly helped peers in need). Regularly shows empathy in actions (e.g. supported friends or peers through challenging times). Occasionally shows care for others (e.g. helped once or twice, no long-term impact). Minimal empathy or support for others.
    Influential Leader Award Effectively builds wide networks, maintains relationships and leads with high influence (e.g. led multiple successful student groups, well-known for leadership). Builds good relationships and shows leadership (e.g. led 1-2 initiatives and has a solid network). Some leadership and influence, but limited in scope (e.g. led one event but minimal ongoing impact). No leadership roles or networking efforts.
    Cultural Engagement Excellence Award Led major cultural events with significant campus impact (e.g. organised a multi-cultural week, engaged diverse groups). Participated in or supported cultural diversity initiatives (e.g. helped organise smaller cultural events). Involved in cultural activities with limited leadership (e.g. attended but did not lead cultural events). No involvement in promoting cultural diversity.
    Sustainable Excellence Award Led multiple sustainability projects with high impact (e.g. initiated campus-wide recycling programs or energy-saving campaigns). Led 1-2 eco-friendly initiatives with noticeable results (e.g. organised local sustainability events or awareness campaigns).
