Student Academic Integrity Report Form

Academic integrity is everyone's responsibility. If you've seen something that doesn't seem right, you can make a report using this form. Please review our guidelines below to help you understand how your report will be handled.

Report a suspicious website or advertisement

The University will look into every report of suspicious adverts or websites which may breach Academic Integrity or offer illegal contract cheating services. There are several actions the University may take, including:

  • Removing the suspicious content or issuing take-down requests to the host site;
  • Reporting suspected contract cheating providers to TEQSA (Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency);
  • Issuing alerts to teaching staff or students regarding the suspicious content;
  • Investigating suspected academic misconduct by a student or students.

Report suspected academic misconduct

1. Make your report using our online form below, or by email to acintegrity@adelaide.edu.au听

2. A member of the Academic Integrity Team will assess your report, and if enough information is available, progress the report to an Academic Integrity Officer. A member of the team may contact you to ask for clarification of the information you have provided.

3. The Academic Integrity Officer will investigate the matter and decide whether there is a case to answer in accordance with the Academic Integrity process. You will not be required to take part in any meetings and where possible, your identity will remain confidential.*

4. For privacy reasons, we are not able to inform you about the outcome of your report. However, each report will be assessed and investigated, provided that enough information is available. The University takes every allegation of academic misconduct seriously. The information you provide in your report will also help us to improve our service and address academic integrity issues.

*Confidentiality

The University will take steps to keep a reporter鈥檚 identity and the reported wrongdoing strictly confidential. There may be instances where it is not possible to keep a reporter鈥檚 identity confidential, however, this will be discussed with the reporter first and a plan will be developed in consultation with the reporter to support and protect the reporter from reprisal.听 The reporter will be able to withdraw from the process at any time, however this may mean that the process will no longer proceed, depending on the nature of the evidence available.

The University will accept an anonymous report made, however:

a) reporters of wrongdoing are encouraged to identify themselves as this allows the University to provide the reporter with any necessary protection and support

b) it is important to realise than an anonymous report of wrongdoing may not prevent a reporter from being identified by the subjects of the report. If the University does not know who made the report, it may not be possible to prevent any reprisal should others identify the reporter.

Please be aware that for reasons of procedural fairness, anonymous reports are often more difficult to follow up, as it may be more difficult for us to verify details of your report. If you report anonymously, it will not be easy for the University to work closely with you to ensure ways to protect your identity during the investigation.
