Public Engagement When Biotechnology Goes “Wild”
On 27 April 2021, we were joined by Prof Jason Delborne (NC State University) to discuss the role of public engagement when dealing with controversial forms of biotechnology.
During his presentation, Jason discussed the motivations and challenges associated with public engagement, focusing in particular on two forms of biotechnology: the genetically engineered American chestnut tree and the gene drive mouse. Jason shared his own experience engaging with key stakeholders in relation to both of these technologies.
