Bridget Smart has become the ³ÉÈË´óƬ’s 113th Rhodes Scholar-elect. She has been awarded a Rhodes Scholarship to study at the University of Oxford.

The ³ÉÈË´óƬ’s Professor Mathai Varghese FAA from the School of Mathematical Sciences, has today Tuesday, 7 December, been awarded the George Szekeres Medal by the Australian Mathematical Society.

Maths & numeracy MOOC boost

The ³ÉÈË´óƬ is partnering with Education Services Australia on a new $9.5 million project to strengthen the capacity of teachers to teach mathematics and numeracy in Australian schools. The project will deliver a series of mathematics Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) for teachers and also produce an online mathematics and numeracy resources hub for teachers, parents and students.

STEM interest drives boost in Uni of Adelaide applications

The ³ÉÈË´óƬ has experienced an increase in first-preference applications for its undergraduate degrees for 2020, with strong interest in STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) programs.
